Mr. Shuji Toyama, born in 1939 and currently 83 years old, embarked on his journey in the world of blacksmithing after graduating from high school. He apprenticed at Sone Seisakujo, the predecessor of the major manufacturer Tadafusa, in Sanjo.
With a passionate dedication to research and exceptional talent, he quickly gained recognition in the blacksmith industry, earning the nickname "Shuji of Ever-Sharp."
Eventually, he became the factory manager at Tadafusa and, upon retiring, established the 'Hizukuri Hamono Kobo Toyama' workshop.
Drawing upon years of experience, he meticulously performs heat treatments tailored to each type of knife and, through the art of hand-sharpening, consistently delivers unparalleled sharpness and ease of maintenance.
His craftsmanship, always keeping end users in mind, has captivated fans worldwide.
