"Kitayama" No. 8000 Super Finishing Whetstone
We would like to introduce the finishing whetstone "Kitayama No. 8000" that is most recommended by the owner of our knife shop.
When you sharpen a Japanese knife with a regular finishing whetstone, both the steel and base metal will have a mirror-like finish. However, with this whetstone, you can express the beautiful contrast unique to Japanese knives, where the steel shines beautifully and the base metal is cloudy, and the sharpness is excellent.
This whetstone is also used by Shigefusa's master, Sanjo Seisakusho, and Shuji Toyama, a world-famous knifesmith.
Precautions for use
・Please soak it in water for a while before use.
・This whetstone is softer than other finishing whetstones. In particular, when sharpening the tip of the knife, it may get caught on the whetstone, so be careful of the angle of sharpening and sharpen with light force.
